We perform advanced “tumescent liposuction” that utilizes our founder, Dr. Hunstad’s tumescent anesthesia invention. This is a popular system that is now considered an important technique in the field after its invention in 1992. Dr. Hunstad has trained his partners in this stomach liposuction technique, so whomever you choose for your abdominal liposuction procedure, you will receive the best care available by surgeons with extensive liposuction experience.
During the procedure, we choose inconspicuous areas for a small incision – less than one quarter of an inch – and anesthetic fluid is injected to numb the fat that will be extracted, as well as to minimize bleeding.
A hollow tube called a “cannula” is inserted into the incision, and a mechanical, motorized device known as power-assisted liposuction is used to move the cannula back and forth, allowing the surgeon a great degree of precision and control.
A syringe liposuction technique may be used in smaller areas. This is a minimally invasive technique in which the surgeon inserts a syringe with a tube. A suction is then created when the syringe is withdrawn so that the fat withdraws simultaneously.
