Harley Moit, D.O.

Plastic Surgeon

Charleston, SC – Mount Pleasant

Dr. Moit grew up in Southeast Missouri in the small town of Bertrand. He attended Southeast Missouri State University where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. From there he went on to medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.

Dr. Moit knew he wanted to be a surgeon as he thought it was a true gift to be able to help patients with his hands. He went on to complete a rigorous 5-year general surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Peoria. During his time in Peoria he realized his true passion was plastic surgery. He was fortunate to be trained by several fantastic plastic surgeons during his general surgery training, including Dr. Glyn Jones (editor for Bostwick’s breast surgery, one of the most extensive breast surgery textbooks read by all plastic surgeons) and Dr. Babis Rammos, a leader in both body contouring and aesthetic surgery who frequently speaks at national and international conferences.

Dr. Moit then became board certified in general surgery and completed and additional 3-year plastic surgery residency at Indiana University. While in Indianapolis he performed thousands of procedures included breast reconstructions, body contouring, pediatric and adult trauma, and the full gamut of plastic surgery. Dr. Moit found his greatest satisfaction came from aesthetic surgery and he was grateful to be mentored from Dr. Bruce Van Natta, a leader in fat grafting and the use of Galaflex for breast tissue support.

Dr. Moit wanted to maximize his Aesthetic armamentarium so he elected to complete a cosmetic surgery fellowship at one of the most prestigious fellowships in the world at H/K/B in Charlotte, NC. Here he honed his skills in all aspects of facial, breast, and body cosmetic surgery. He is proud to be joining the H/K/B team and working to grow this phenomenal group into something even greater.

“I have been blessed to train with so many giants in the field of plastic surgery and more specifically, Aesthetic surgery. All of my patients are uniquely beautiful and my goal is to help them reach their full potential. I want my patients to feel heard and know that I will do my best to give them the best outcome possible.”

Dr. Moit, his wife, and soon-to-be newborn son are excited to call Charleston their home. You will likely see them playing with their pup Ellie on the local beaches in their free time or enjoying some of the local southern cuisine.
