What to Expect?
Incisions are made under the buttocks crease where they will remain hidden. A soft silicone implant is inserted, which will feel firm but natural to the touch.
Liposuction is used in an area with excess fat, such as the abdomen, thighs, flanks, or hips. Through a small incision, a tube called a cannula is inserted and attached to a suction device. The fat is extracted and then treated in a centrifuge. It can then be re-injected into the buttocks to (1) make sure the implant will be invisible and (2) contour the buttocks for the best possible shape.
At H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery, our plastic surgeons use a new technique for fat grafting that causes less disruption to the harvested fat cells. What does this mean for you? More of the fat that is injected will “take,” which means that less of the fat will be absorbed by the body. When fat is absorbed, it sometimes causes the need for a second injection procedure. Our technique also allows us to perform fat grafting faster than in the past with less downtime for you.
Recovery Time
You must sit very cautiously for the first few weeks. We generally recommend avoiding pressure on the buttocks for two weeks. You can return to work in about two weeks or when you’re comfortable. There will be swelling, bruising, and soreness in both the buttocks and the area where the fat was harvested for the grafts. Swelling may take up to six months to fully resolve, but we will give you a compression garment to wear that will help to keep swelling to a minimum.
Strenuous activities should be avoided for 4-6 weeks. Of course, we will monitor your progress for your buttock augmentation and Brazilian buttock lift, see you for follow-up examinations, and answer any questions you have during your recovery perio
