Back Lift

You eat right, exercise daily, but those bumps and bulges above and below the bra line won’t budge? This is a common concern that can plague even the most fit women. Enter the bra line lipo and back lift. H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery developed the Bra Line Back Lift procedure in 2001 to remove the lax skin that can occur with age, sun exposure, and weight loss.

More than a decade later, all of our surgeons have extensive experience performing this specialized procedure that provides dramatic results. An article about the technique was published in 2009 in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and has since received significant media attention on WebMD, MSNBC, Reuters, The Daily News in London, and television programs. Our surgeons have gone on to lecture on his method at professional symposiums both nationally and internationally.

Even though the procedure has received considerable buzz over the years, few practices offer it, so we are pleased to be able to provide it for H/K/B patients. To learn more about back lift surgery at H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery, complete our online form today to schedule a visit.

What to Expect?

A bra line back lift and bra line lipo can usually be performed on an outpatient basis using at our fully accredited surgical facility on our beautiful campus, where our highly qualified nurses will pamper you. Our nurses are certified in advanced cardiac life support, which ensures the highest level of supervision, evaluation, and care in the unlikely event of an emergency.

An incision is across the back in an area that can be hidden underneath a bra or swimsuit. During the surgery, excess skin and fat is removed. Multiple back “rolls” are smoothed, and the lift extends all the way to the buttocks.

Recovery Time

Depending upon the amount of tissue that was removed, recovery time is generally 7-10 days. Strenuous activity should be avoided for 4-6 weeks. You can shower and wash your hair the first day after surgery.

While some swelling, bruising, and pain is to be expected after a bra line back lift, you can take pain medication, if necessary, and apply an ice pack to decrease discomfort.

You will return to our office for follow-up appointments so that we can monitor your progress and answer any questions you have while you heal. Fatty tissue on the back can recur, but if so, the amount should be considerably less than before. The best way to maintain your results is to keep your weight steady.
