Breast Lift with H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery
GRAVITY IS ONLY OUR FRIEND WHEN WE WANT OUR FEET TO STAY PLANTED ON THE GROUND
When it comes to saggy body parts, particularly the breasts, gravity isn’t so friendly. Aging, weight loss, pregnancy, and genetics can all lead to drooping breasts that can be a source of embarrassment for women. A breast lift (also known as a “mastopexy”) restores a lifted breast position.
At H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery, we can defy gravity with personalized cosmetic procedures. A breast lift requires considerable skill on the part of the surgeon—both medical expertise and the eye of a sculptor. Our surgeons at H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery are well-known experts in all types of breast surgery, and in our accredited, state-of-the-art surgical facility, you will be treated like family by our doctors and staff.
When performed successfully, breast lift surgery can raise the breast position on the chest wall, reducing sagging and lax skin. A mastopexy is the best way to correct sagging related to weight changes, ages, and breastfeeding. During the breast lift process, asymmetry, roundness, and nipple position can also be improved for overall aesthetic benefit. What Is Breast Lift Surgery?
A breast lift usually requires one to three hours and is performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. During the surgery, you will be fully asleep. Or, if you prefer, there is the option of having a local anesthetic with an IV sedation administered, in which you will be somewhat awake, but completely relaxed throughout the entire process.
The specific method chosen for your breast lift will depend on your anatomy and ultimately how you wish to look post-surgery. The most common method of breast lift surgery involves three incisions—one around the areola, another vertically from the bottom edge of the areola to the crease underneath the breast, and the third horizontally beneath the breast in the natural curve of the crease. Our surgeons are especially skilled in keeping the scarring to a minimum.
What Can I Expect During Breast Lift Procedure?
After the incisions have been made, excess breast skin is removed, and the remaining tissue is reshaped with the nipple and areola being moved to a higher position. The areola is often stretched when breasts sag, so they can also be reduced in size, if desired, to make them more proportionate with the rest of the breasts. Liposuction is sometimes used as well to improve the contour of the breasts, especially on the sides.
Because the nipples and areoles remain attached to the underlying tissue, sensation is usually preserved, as well as the ability to breastfeed. It is significant to note, though, that having children or breast feeding following a breast lift will likely result in recurring tissue laxity and drooping.

How Long Does It Take to Recover From Breast Lift Surgery?
Our skilled and trained staff will monitor your progress and give you full instructions to help facilitate the recovery process of your mastopexy. Following breast lift surgery, you may go home the same day. Generally, most patients take one to two weeks off from work. You may need to wear an elastic bandage or surgical bra for a short period of time, and you can expect some soreness and bruising for a few days. Inflammation may last for a period of weeks, gradually subsiding. If you are uncomfortable, you can take over-the-counter or prescription medication during the recovery period.
Following breast lift surgery, you should avoid heavy lifting or vigorous exercises for a few weeks, or until permitted by your doctor. You must also sleep on your back until you are cleared to resume sleeping on your stomach or sides.
Are The Results From a Breast Lift Permanent?
Yes, breast lift surgery results are permanent. However, the natural aging process, gravity, pregnancy, and loss can cause the breast to sag. If you also have a breast augmentation at the time of your breast lift, the results will last longer.

What Is The Cost of Breast Lift Surgery?
Because all patients are different, it’s hard to estimate exactly how much surgery will cost. Not all women require the same treatment plan; there isn’t a universal price for a breast lift surgery. However, during your consultation with the doctor, you will get a better understanding of the overall price of the procedure and have a chance to learn about payment plans and methods.

Breast Lift FAQS
While a breast lift can provide long-lasting results, factors such as aging, gravity, weight fluctuations, and pregnancy can still affect the breasts over time. However, the degree of sagging may be less pronounced than before the procedure.
The healing time for breast lift incisions varies among individuals but typically ranges from several weeks to a few months. Initially, there may be swelling, bruising, and discomfort, but these gradually subside as the incisions heal.
Following a breast lift, it’s essential to sleep on your back with your upper body elevated to minimize pressure on the breasts and aid in healing. Your surgeon may recommend using pillows to support your back and keep you in a comfortable position.
Yes, it’s possible to get pregnant after a breast lift. However, pregnancy and breastfeeding can affect the results of the procedure, potentially causing changes in breast size, shape, and sagging. It’s advisable to discuss your plans for pregnancy with your surgeon during the consultation.
Yes, a breast lift can be combined with breast augmentation in a procedure known as augmentation mastopexy. This approach allows for lifting and reshaping the breasts while also increasing volume and fullness with implants. It’s essential to discuss your goals and expectations with your surgeon to determine if this combined procedure is suitable for you.
