Submental liposuction is typically performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia and only uses small incisions. Some candidates choose to pursue a neck lift or facelift as well to further enhance results.

Recovery Time
Some patients feel well enough after submental liposuction to return to work the day after the procedure. Almost all are back within three days when the swelling has lessened, and many are fully recovered after a week. Pain associated with submental liposuction is usually minimal and most cases are performed under local anesthesia or oral sedation.
Following your surgery, we recommend wearing a wrap or chin strap for about 2 weeks to minimize post-operative swelling and help the skin properly conform to the new neck contour.
