Brow Lift | Forehead Lift H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery
BROW LIFT IS A FANTASTIC PROCEDURE THAT REJUVENATES THE ENTIRE UPPER THIRD OF THE FACE
Most commonly, we perform an Endoscopic procedure known as a minimally invasive technique. A brow lift is also sometimes referred to as a forehead lift. During this forehead lift or brow lift procedure, three small incisions are made within the scalp. Through these openings, an illuminated four-millimeter endoscope is used. The muscles that create the scowling between the eyebrows are lessened and removed and the entire forehead is carefully released allowing it to appear more refreshed and in an elevated position.
Because skin is not removed in this procedure, fixation is required to hold the forehead in its new desired position during the healing process. Many techniques are used including the absorbable Endotines as well as temporary screw fixation, where small screws are used to hold the forehead into position during the healing process. They are then removed leaving virtually no visible scars.

Finding The Right Surgical Facility
When searching for the right surgical facility for you, ask whether everyone on the clinical staff has advanced cardiac life support certification. This is not a requirement, but this certification ensures that you will be safe and well cared for in the event of an emergency during your brow lift. This is why all of our surgeons and clinical staff are certified.
It is also a good idea to take a tour of the surgical facility you’re considering. We welcome tours to show that our facilities are outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment and creature comforts. We not only make absolutely sure that every spot is clean and well lit, but that the spaces we use for procedures, recovery, and overnight stays are appropriate, beautiful, and welcoming.
Brow Lift Recovery
After brow lift and forehead lift surgery, you may experience some numbness and discomfort around the incision. You can be prescribed medication to relieve the discomfort. If you are prone to headaches, we may give an additional local anesthetic during surgery as a preventive measure. There will be some swelling that may extend to the cheeks and eyes and should abate within 10 to 14 days. As the nerves begin to heal, the numbness may be replaced by itching.

Brow Lift Surgery Cost
The cost of a brow lift or forehead lift is determined by many factors. Things that are very important that should be discussed with your board-certified plastic surgeon include what type of anesthesia provider is caring for you. Is it an advanced anesthesia provider such as what we have at H/K/B or is it a nurse anesthetist who is normally in the hospital setting and supervised by the advanced anesthesia provider?
Only a few certifying agencies have the authority to certify a surgical facility for surgeries like brow lifts. Our advanced facilities are on par with the best hospitals and fully accredited by the AAAASF – The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, the Gold Standard for safety in outpatient surgery facilities. This accreditation requires that we conform to strict national standards for equipment, surgeon and staff credentials, and operating room safety for a brow lift. Few surgical facilities maintain the standards necessary for this accreditation.

Brow Lift FAQS
The choice between under-eye (lower eyelid) and over-the-lid (upper eyelid) blepharoplasty depends on the specific concerns you wish to address. Under-eye blepharoplasty targets issues such as under-eye bags, puffiness, and dark circles, while over-the-lid blepharoplasty focuses on correcting droopy or heavy upper eyelids. Your plastic surgeon can assess your individual needs and recommend the most appropriate procedure for you.
The ideal age for a brow lift varies among individuals and depends on factors such as genetics, sun exposure, skin elasticity, and overall facial aging. While brow lift surgery is often performed on individuals in their 40s to 60s, some younger patients may also benefit from the procedure if they have significant brow ptosis (drooping) or asymmetry.
The longevity of brow lift results depends on several factors, including the surgical technique used, individual healing processes, and lifestyle factors such as sun exposure and smoking. On average, brow lift results can last between five to ten years, but some patients may enjoy longer-lasting results.
A mini brow lift, also known as a temporal or lateral brow lift, is a less invasive surgical procedure that targets the outer portion of the eyebrows. It is typically performed through small incisions placed at the temples, resulting in subtle elevation and rejuvenation of the lateral brow area.
Yes, a brow lift can help improve the appearance of hooded eyes by lifting the eyebrows to a higher position, thereby reducing excess skin and tissue that may be weighing down the upper eyelids. However, the suitability of a brow lift for addressing hooded eyes depends on the individual’s specific anatomical features and goals.
Whether a brow lift or an eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) is better depends on the specific concerns you wish to address. A brow lift primarily targets brow ptosis (drooping) and forehead wrinkles, while an eyelid lift focuses on correcting excess skin, fat, and muscle laxity in the upper or lower eyelids. Your plastic surgeon can evaluate your facial anatomy and recommend the most suitable procedure or combination of procedures to achieve your desired results.
Whether a brow lift is better than Botox® depends on your individual goals, preferences, and the extent of the aesthetic concerns you wish to address. A brow lift provides longer-lasting results by surgically lifting and repositioning the eyebrows, while Botox temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles and can provide a non-surgical lift to the brows.
While a brow lift can provide significant improvement in brow position and forehead wrinkles, some patients may still benefit from Botox injections to further enhance results or address dynamic wrinkles that persist after surgery. Your plastic surgeon can advise you on the best combination of treatments to achieve your aesthetic goals.
